Section 1: The Dynolight - Powered by Generator only.

The Dynolight System is a  LED lighthead and Tail Light that is powered by a generator wheel .
What is the Light On! Warranty Policy?
  • LIGHT ON! LLC provides a one year limited warranty on all components. If a problem occurs in normal use and no alterations or abuse to the product have been determined to have taken place, we will repair or replace that component. Please contact LIGHT ON! LLC for return authorization. You will need to provide contact information, date of purchase, and description of issue.
What is the Light On! Return Policy?
  • Light On guarantees satisfaction with every product we sell. If an item does not meet your expectation within 30 days, please contact us to insure a prompt replacement or refund.
What type of LED's do you use?
  • Cree XPG2-R5 with a 6500K - Color Temperature .
How do I connect the wires to the generator?  Does it mater which wire connects to which tab?
  • It doesn't matter.   Just besure that the connection is clean, solidly touching and that the wires are not touching each other.
Does the light flicker at low speeds?
  • A very slight amount of flicker will happen below 5-7 mph when the light is switched to the low setting.  The flicker will be more noticable at the same speeds when the light is switched to the high setting.
What intensity of light can I expect at different speeds?
  • The Light begins to illuminate, 25% brightness, at 3-4 mph.  75% brightness at 12-14 mph.  100% brightness at 18-20 mph.
What are Lumens and LUX? 
  • Lumens is a measurement of the amount of light comming out of the source (like water comming out of a hose sprayer).  LUX is the amount of light landing on a surface (like the wet surface that the water sprayer is making).
Can I leave the light switch on all the time?
  • Yes, infact, that's what we recommend.  Or, you can ride with it off if you want.
  • Can I turn the light on and off at any speed?  Can I switch it from high to low to high to low to high to low at any speed?
    • Yes.
    Will I sacrafice any speed when the light is turned on?
    • Yes, but it is practically impercievable.  You can't really feel any difference at lower speeds (below 10-12 mph) and you can maybe begin to feel a difference at 15-18 mph. This can be experienced by switching the light on and off while riding.   The maximum power usage is 4 to 5 watts and that only develops at higher speeds.

Does the light flicker at low speeds?
  • Absolutely no flicker at all.
What intensity of light can I expect at different speeds?
  • 100% brightness all the time, even when stopped.
What happens if I leave the light on too long, while not riding, and the battery goes dead (flat)?
  • Recharge the batery as soon as possible by riding with the light turned off for at least an hour .  This needs to be done within a few days.  Leaving the batteries in a flat condition is harmful to the batteries. 
What happens if I over draw the battery while USB charging my device, while not riding, and the battery goes dead (flat)?
  • Recharge the batery as soon as possible by riding with the light turned off for at least an hour .  This needs to be done within a few days.  Leaving the batteries in a flat condition is harmful to the batteries. 
My light is being used for the first time and it doesn't stay on very long when stopped (not riding)?
  • New batteries need to be fully cycled a few times before they reach their full potential.  The best practice is to fully charge the battery by ridinig with the light turned off for a period of at least 2 hours.  Then use the light on high untill the battery is drained enough that it seems to be the same brightness on either high or low.  Do the charge discharge sequence at least 3 times. 
What type of Batteries do you use?
  • Lithium Ion, size 18650 with a protective circuit.  This battery is available for purchase at various internet stores.
What type of LED's do you use?
  • Cree XPG2-R5 with a 6500K - Color Temperature .
